Calabash is known as “The Seafood Capital of the World.”  It has long been a favorite destination for seafood lovers where you can get the original recipes of Calabash-style seafood.  Because of its position on the North Carolina coast being the southernmost river town and its accessibility to the Atlantic ocean, Calabash became a unique fishing village with exceptional restaurants around 1935.  Many specialty stores and local art galleries have come to call the town of Calabash home.  Like most other towns in this region, Calabash also offers a few exceptional golf courses, rounding out its list of must do activities.
